There are three volunteer roles available: the admin volunteer, project volunteer and road safety education volunteer. Each volunteer will have the opportunity to discover which responsibilities align with their skills, knowledge, and interests. Each role is flexible and allows volunteers to choose their own hours and level of involvement. No prior road safety experience is required, just a passion for road safety and a desire to make a difference in our community. 

Road Safety Education Volunteer

The road safety education volunteer assists with the development and roll out of the education program. This includes the following: – Conducting road safety education presentations in a consistent and professional manner. – Conducting research to assess the quality of the program and find areas of improvement. – Assist with expanding the education program to the wider community. – Creating educational materials that can be used by the community. Each road safety education volunteer will be trained to conduct the RAAG presentation. Presentation times will vary and be dependent on when the volunteer is available. 

Admin Volunteer

The admin volunteer supports the operational administration of RAAG. The role is flexible in hours and times, with the volunteer working remotely. They will work with the admin and funding coordinator to determine what activities they will be able to assist with and will be trained accordingly. These include (but not limited to): – Assist with e-newsletter, social media posts, website updates etc. – Attend RAAG meetings & take minutes if admin & funding coordinator is unavailable. – Assist with responding to email enquiries. This role is tailored for each volunteer, depending on their skills, interests, and availability.

Project Volunteer

The project volunteer supports the projects and campaigns being run by RAAG. The role is flexible and is adapted to each project. The volunteer will be able to choose which projects they are interested in and assist with the following: – Provide administration support for projects, including: o Assist with creation of project plan e.g., putting together timeframes for activities, getting letters of support, etc. o Assist with putting together project budget e.g., getting quotes for items. o Assist with implementation of the project e.g., organize printing of items, design of education materials etc. – Provide practical support for projects e.g., representing RAAG at events. This role is tailored for each volunteer, depending on their skills, interests, and availability.
